Monte is a life long Wyoming native, born in Rock Springs and grew up in Green River. He has lived in Lander since 1976. Monte retired from Lander School District #1 after working for 36 years. He also coached soccer since 1980 (Youth, Strikers, Boys and Girls high school), coached Junior High Basketball and Freshman Boys Basketball. Monte has been married for 40+ years and has three children and five grandchildren. He has served eight years on city council, and is in his second term as the Mayor of Lander.
