Police Officer/Animal Control Officer
The City of Lander Police Department is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Police Officer/Animal Control Officer. This position has a pay range from $17.50 to $30.80 per hour and placement will be determined upon qualification. This position is a certified Peace Officer, whose primary duties include being the City of Lander’s Animal Control Officer. Secondary duties include assisting the Patrol Division with covering shifts and assisting with answering calls for service.
Lateral transfers of current Law Enforcement Officers are desired, but not required. Lateral transfers must hold a current Wyoming POST certification or be certified in another state and eligible for challenging Wyoming POST. Starting salaries for lateral transfers are negotiable depending on experience and additional benefits can be considered. Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED. Applicants must pass physical assessment, complete background check, and a psychological exam with the Lander Police Department. All non-law enforcement applicants must take and pass the Wyoming Peace Officer Standards and Training Test, (P.O.S.T.) prior to the completion of the hiring process.
