DOWNTOWN LANDER BUSINESS PARK

Located along the community's main thoroughfair at the former site of Lander Valley High School, construction of the Downtown Lander Business Park is finally underway. The construction is under the direction of the Tiger Joint Powers Board, a partnership between the City of Lander and Fremont County School District #1.

When completed, the business park will have 14 lots ranging between .3 acre to 1.5 acres.

Phase I of the Lander Business Park is funded by a $1.5 million grant through a Business Ready Community Grant awarded by the Wyoming Business Council. The Business Ready Community Program is intended promote economic development in order to improve economic health and a stronger state economy.

Construction of Phase I began on June 26th, 2006, and is scheduled to finish by October 1, 2006. Phase I includes development of several lots close to Main Street.

"We are extremely excited to see the project moving along and are looking forward to helping the interested businesses get established in the park." said Tiger Board chairwoman RaJean Strube Fossen.

According to Gary Michaud, City of Lander Community Resource Coordinator, "The business park will provide a supportive environment for economic development that catalyzes business growth and promotes diversification while preserving the many aesthetic aspects of the area."
